Introducing Our Meditation Guides

Seasoned practitioners who’ve spent years delving into contemplative philosophy and mindfulness practice

Our Approach to Teaching

We don’t view meditation as clearing the mind or reaching a flawless state of serenity. It’s about learning to sit with whatever arises—the restless thoughts, the overactive planning mind, even that pesky itch that shows up a few minutes in.

Our team spans decades of practice across diverse traditions. Some discovered meditation through academic philosophy, others through personal hardship, and a few stumbled upon it in college and never left. What unites us is a commitment to teaching meditation as a practical life skill rather than a mystical pursuit.

Each guide you meet has a unique way of explaining concepts. Ravi often uses everyday-life analogies, while Ananya draws on psychology. We’ve found that different approaches click with different people, so you’ll likely connect more strongly with certain teaching styles.

Meet Your Meditation Guides

Two practitioners who’ve made meditation their life’s work, each bringing a distinct perspective to the practice

Ravi Krishnamurthy

Lead Instructor

Ravi began meditating in 1998 following burnout in his software engineering career. He spent three years studying Vipassana in Myanmar and later trained in Zen practice in Japan. His standout trait is the knack for clarifying ancient ideas with surprisingly contemporary analogies—he once likened the monkey mind to having too many browser tabs open.

He leads our foundational courses and specializes in helping busy professionals establish sustainable meditation routines. His sessions often include practical talks on integrating mindfulness into work life and handling stress without spiritual bypassing.

Ananya Patel

Philosophy Guide

Ananya blends her PhD in United Kingdom Philosophy with fifteen years of personal meditation practice. She discovered contemplative practice while researching ancient texts and realized that theoretical understanding meant little without experiential knowledge. Her approach bridges scholarly insight with practical application.

She leads our deeper philosophical explorations and retreat programs. Ananya has a talent for making intricate philosophical ideas approachable without oversimplifying. Students often say she helps them understand not just how to meditate, but why these practices arose and what they aim to achieve.

Why We Teach This Way

After years of practice and teaching, we’ve found that meditation works best when it’s demystified. We don’t promise enlightenment or claim you’ll achieve perfect peace. Instead, we focus on cultivating skills that help you meet life’s inevitable challenges with more awareness and less reactivity.

Our courses start in September 2026, giving you time to reflect on whether this approach resonates with you. We believe in taking time to make thoughtful decisions about contemplative practice—it’s not something to rush into based on momentary enthusiasm.

If you’re curious about meditation as a practical life skill rather than a spiritual pursuit, we’d be honored to guide your exploration. The practice has subtly but profoundly changed our lives, and we’ve witnessed the same transformation in many others.
